Interview from Jen
On a scale of 1-10 rate your overall opinion of this restaurant:
Jen: I would say this bakery gets a 9 out of 10. It's hard for me to give out 10s, but this comes close. The cakes were delicious and beautiful, and it was decorated exactly how I wanted it. I wanted it to look like my daughter's favorite blanket (brown with pink dots) and a bunny on top, and it was exactly right. I bought an 8" cake, 12 cupcakes and a "smashcake" for my daughter. We didn't eat at the bakery, obviously, so I can't rate the "dining experience," but the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only part of the order they forgot was to write, "Happy Birthday" on the cake, but the baker quickly put that on for me when I was there to pick up the cakes.

What was the best thing you ate?
Jen: I have only tried some of their cakes and cupcakes, and everything I've tried has been delicious. Their vanilla cake with vanilla frosting is yummy, as are their red velvet cupcakes, chocolate/chocolate cupcakes, caramel cupcakes, etc. They have several different sized cupcakes - their "small" ones are priced at $0.99 which is really reasonable for a bakery cupcake. (Others are usually around $1.50 to $2.50, depending on where you go.) They have larger filled cupcakes that are more expensive, along with "mini cakes" and cookies, etc. My daughter's birthday cake was vanilla with fudge filling and chocolate frosting. It was delicious - everyone at the party commented on how good it was. The frosting didn't taste like the artificial waxy shortening frosting that so many places use - it was a really delicious buttercream frosting. (I'm super picky about frosting - theirs is really good here!)

What was the worst thing you ate?
Jen: Hmm...Everything I've tried has been really good, but I haven't eating a sample of everything in the bakery. :) Maybe that will be my next goal! Along with running a marathon... Some of their cupcakes have nuts and my son has a nut allergy, so be careful if you have any food allergies. We didn't have a problem with my son eating the vanilla cupcake though, so you should be ok if you're careful, depending on the severity of the allergies. Always be careful about what you eat if you do have food allergies!

How was the service?
Jen: The service was great - it was a little slow when I picked up the cake because they forgot to write "Happy Birthday" on the cake, but that wasn't a problem, and the baker was able to take care of that right away.

Would you go back?
Jen: I will definitely come back to Dippidees - the price is really good for a custom cake and everything was delicious. Their custom cakes start around $65 for an 8", which is really reasonable. Prices go up according to how intricate the designs are. Cupcakes start at $.99 - everything is delicious and the staff is friendly. Be aware, though, that it closes at 7, which seems early to me. They have cookies and brownies and cupcakes and other temptations that I'd like to try. They also have really cute things for sale. They do have free WiFi there, if you want to go and eat cupcakes and tell everyone on Facebook what you're up to. :)
