Takashi is a Japanese restaurant located in Salt Lake City. Their specialty is sushi but they also offer other Japanese options (terriyaki chicken, steak, etc.). The restaurant can be very crowded so be sure to either make reservations or plan to spend a little time waiting for an individual table (they do have a bar if you're in to that sort of thing).

Many people say this is the best sushi restaurant in Utah. EatingUtah.com agrees.

Interview from Preston
On a scale of 1-10 rate your overall opinion of this restaurant:
Preston: 9

What was the best thing you ate?
Preston: Strawberry fields forever - it had some kind of nuts on top (almonds maybe)? It was too die for. They did make it special for me and went light on the strawberry by request (not me, but my wife). It was amazing. Hot Seafood Soup (I might have the name wrong on this, but the servers will know what you're talking about). It was so delicious - refreshing yet it had a kick. It also had fresh shrimp and clams in it (probably some other things as well). Ceviche Roll - it came with a special dipping sauce that my wife really enjoyed. I thought it was pretty good too. Probably our favorite was the Magic Roll. It had unagi (eel on it) and was the perfect mixture of sweet and savory.

What was the worst thing you ate?
Preston: I was going to say my wife's salad that she ordered but she won't let me write that so I won't :) Honestly, everything was delicious. You will not be let down.

How was the service?
Preston: We really liked the service. We are always nervous about how we will be treated when we go into a place like this and order Diet Cokes (I assume people who order alcohol end up spending much, much more). If it bothered our server he certainly didn't show it. He was awesome - he gave us recommendations and everything was spot on. He was attentive but not annoying - really, it was a great experience all around.

Would you go back?
Preston: Absolutely - if it weren't so expensive I swear I would go every weekend. We did order a lot of food for two people, but I was a little surprised that our bill came to around $80. It was a wonderful night, though, and I highly recommend this restaurant. If you want the best sushi in Salt Lake City, don't miss this place.
