Interview from Jen
On a scale of 1-10 rate your overall opinion of this restaurant:
Jen: I would rate this restaurant a 3. The service was average and the food was sub-par. (Some was good, but the salmon was rotten, and that just tainted the whole restaurant experience.)

What was the best thing you ate?
Jen: I had the Rainbow roll, the Spider Roll and the Caterpillar Roll. My husband had the salmon sashimi. I liked the caterpillar roll the best - the flavor was good, and it seemed fresh. Not the best caterpillar roll I've ever had, but based on what I ate here, I would recommend it.

What was the worst thing you ate?
Jen: Do not eat the salmon, either the cooked or Sashimi. My brother had the salmon and steak, and my husband had the salmon Sashimi. They both ended up with food poisoning and were really sick for about 24 hours. The salmon just wasn't fresh and didn't taste (or look) right. It was quite obviously old or bad.

How was the service?
Jen: The service was average - we had a party of around 20 people and only had one server. She was friendly enough, but I think the party was much too big for one server to be able to handle. The food came out in bits and pieces - in other words, some people got their meals and we had to wait a long time for everyone to finally get their meals. Despite having reservations for the large party, the restaurant just didn't seem to be able to handle everyone. They could probably handle smaller groups better, however I was surprised at how they really couldn't accommodate a large group since they we had our own room that was obviously for large parties.

Would you go back?
Jen: I would not go back to this restaurant. I actually called the restaurant the next day to let them know that at least two people from our party got sick, and the manager I spoke with seemed concerned. She asked for details and told me she would speak with the general manager and get right back to me. Obviously food quality is of little importance to them - they never got back to me. If a restaurant tries to make up for their mistakes (or at least own up to them), I would be more willing to have an open mind, but if they can't take the time to apologize and call me back, it shows a lack of concern for customers, which means they will probably tend to repeat the same mistake. There are many much better sushi restaurants in Utah - stick with Takashi or Naked Fish. Stay away from any of the Tsunami locations.
